RIM faces legal heat, "BBx" name trademarked by a software provider, BASIS International.


RIM BBx(combination of older Blackberry OS and next generation QNX software) is facing a legal heat before stepping into the market as a small N.M.-based software provider, Basis International, claims "BBx" already exhist as its software platform. RIM is hoping that this BBx will be mark its comeback in Smartphone game. at the company's developer conference on Tuesday. But this dispute however, seems to be adding hinderance in its comeback.
Basis in a statement said that it was taking "swift, legal action" to protect itself.
On the other hand RIM claims that it has not yet received a complaint from Basis. Further added, "We do not believe the marks are confusing, particularly since our respective companies are in different lines of business".
RIM has just come out of a serious problem,
"outage" which left the company nowhere, from which they haven't recovered properly till yet and here is new trouble waiting for them.
