After is offering to replace first gen iPod nanos worldwide due to it's battery issues, seems that after six years Apple has discovered that NANO is faulty. Emails has been sent to registered owners, the affected units were sold between September 2005 and December 2006. If you have got one then fill out the form to order a free replacement unit. The main reason behind this replacement is rare case of battery overheating. Reason given for waiting so long to replace them is that when it comes to this issue "the likelihood increases as the battery ages". Replacement models are still not confirmed, but you can tune in later to have more updates.
